ROB ATCHISON TO APPEAR AT “CPT RACING EXPERIENCE”
Three-Time IHRA Alcohol Funny Car Champion will sign autographs, display race car
Rob Atchison
February 20/08: Three-time International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) Alcohol Funny Car Champion, Rob Atchison, will headline the drag racing contingent at the upcoming CPT Racing Experience, March 15 and 16 at the London Convention Centre. Atchison’s car will be on display throughout the weekend, while Rob himself will be on hand to meet with fans and sign autographs all day on the Sunday.

Atchison, the most successful Canadian driver in IHRA history, has already amassed 20 National event victories and 3 IHRA Alcohol Funny Car championships, which he won in three consecutive seasons, from 2003 to 2005. In addition, Atchison currently holds the IHRA Alcohol Funny Car mile-per-hour record, at 249.03 M.P.H. over the quarter-mile racing distance.

Accompanying his impressive win record and championship streak, Rob hosts a trophy case full of hardware, including more than 30 pole qualifying positions; numerous National, elapsed-time and mile-per-hour records; and runner-up finishes the past two seasons in the championship points standings.

Fans will have the chance to get up close to see his car, a 2006 Monte Carlo Alcohol Funny Car (sponsored by Erickson Tie-Downs), throughout both days of the event. Rob will be at the event all day on the Sunday, March 16.

Race fans in Southwestern Ontario looking to see Atchison in action will have a couple of chances later this year. Atchison should be on track as part of the Knoll Gas Motorsports Nitro Jam Series at the Mopar Canadian Nationals at Grand Bend Motorplex (July 18 – 20, 2008) and the Nitro Jam Canadian Nationals at Toronto Motorsports Park (September 19 – 21, 2008).
