January 28/08: Guests of the CPT Racing Experience will have a chance to win passes to two of the most celebrated racing events in Ontario, thanks to Ohsweken Speedway. Among the many prizes up for grabs at the event (March 15 & 16 at the London Convention Centre) will be a pair of adult reserved seat tickets for the World of Outlaws sprint car event on July 22, 2008; a pair of adult reserved seat tickets for the World of Outlaws sprints on July 23, 2008; and two adult reserved seat tickets to the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals, on Saturday, September 13, 2008.
Both events are among the most anticipated races in Ontario.
In 2007, the World of Outlaws sprint car series came to Ohsweken, the first time in 25 years that they had performed in Canada. After playing to a sell-out crowd, the event – and the track – drew rave reviews from across Canadian racing circles.
Prior to the event, Ohsweken Speedway made wholesale improvements around the facility. Seating was expanded to more than double the original capacity; a new catch fence was put in place; the 3/8-mile clay oval was resurfaced; and new Musco lighting was installed in the corners.
The results were so impressive that Ohsweken’s Glenn Styres was honoured as Promoter of the Year at the World of Outlaws annual “Night of Champions” in Charlotte, North Carolina last fall.
“To host a World of Outlaws event was a dream come true,” Styres said. “Next season we will work even harder to make the two-day show in July even bigger and better”.
Ohsweken Speedway is a 3/8-mile oval track near Brantford, Ontario with racing from May through mid-September. Visit the track online at www.ohswekenspeedway.com.
